Summer Workout Expectations

We will rotate postition groups week-by-week. We are starting with OL/DL, TE's, H's/FB's/LB's at 9:00 - 10:00 am. QB's, RB's/DB's, WR's will lift during the second half of the morning session from 10:00 - 11:00 am. When we return from dead week, the QB group will begin their lifting at 9:00 am. You must show up to workout ON TIME!! Coach Divito will start timing the session right at the designated start time for each group. You only have 10 minutes to start and finish each workout, then you must move on to the next lift. Each participant is expected to get all of their lifts in at the designated time. Decrease the down time between lifts, and help each other load and unload weights. Let's utilize this time to become the best football player's in the State. Remember to increase your start weights for each lift every week, and also add at least five pounds to each set. EVERY WORKOUT COUNTS! Your TEAMMATES are counting on you to take advantage of every opportunity we have to get Athens Football to the top of the mountian. Let's have a great summer.

Go Redhawks!

Summer Expectations:
Total communication is not an option, it is an expectation.
Workouts are non-mandatory, but all members are highly encouraged to attend every workout. In order for us to take this program to the next level we need all participants at each workout to ensure everyone’s ultimate success.
All participants will arrive to each workout on time. Each position will rotate specific workout times each week. It’s important that each member arrive at their designated time to ensure consistency and intensity during each workout.
Family vacations are highly encouraged. I just ask that each parent/player communicate the time they will not be at workouts in order for proper records to be kept.
If there is any type of family and/or medical emergency that may arise during the summer that would permit an individual from coming to workouts, please contact me as well.

With just a little over six weeks left before the start of 2-A-Days, we need everyone, including the parents, to fully commit to the summer training schedule set for the 2009 season. I am truly excited and pleased with the progress that we, as a football family, have made thus far. With everyone’s total commitment, our dream of becoming the best football team in the state will become a much deserved reality.

GO REDHAWKS!

Pride Camp

Players and Parents,

Just a reminder that you want to have your Pride Camp registration turned in to the office before Wednesday, June 17th. You can simply give it to one of the secretaries in the either one of the offices and they will make sure that it gets put into my football mailbox. Also, just to clarify the possible confusion regarding the helmets needed for the camp. We will be distributing helmets on Wednesday, June 17th to all those participants planning to attend Athens High School this next school year. Remember, this camp is offered to all Troy residents. Therefore, some participants may be attending Troy High and will need to bring their own helmet. The camp will be run just like our 2-A-Day schedule in August, so the players attending Troy Athens will be able to get a feel of the practice tempo and coaching expectations. I'm looking forward to a great summer of preparation and fun. Let's utilize the Pride Camp as another building block to our State Championship bid.
