Parent Volunteers and Participant Clarification

Attention Parents,

I am looking for some parent volunteers to help at the Lift-A-Thon on Saturday, May 30th at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Duzey has offered to help with the silent auction. I am looking for parents to help in the concession stand, and sell meal tickets. If anyone would like to volunteer, please contact me at jheppner@scslakeview-k12.com. I would like to have a count of parent volunteers no later than Friday, May 29th.

Also, if you have a son that is unable to attend the Lift-A-Thon we still need to have all of the pledges turned in by the event. If players are physically unable to participate, we would still like them at the event to help cheer on their Red Hawk Football family members. Everyone plays a huge roll in the success of this event whether they are spectating or actually participating. I will be sending out a letter through the Athens Football email blast to explain this in further detail.

Thank you for your time,

Coach Heppner

Gift Baskets/Auction Items

Attention Players and Parents,

If you have any gift baskets to be auctioned off at the Lift-A-Thon, please contact me prior to the event. The easiest way to contact me would be through my school email address: jheppner@scslakeview-k12.com. I would like to get an estimate of how many items we will be auctioning off, along with an estimated price value in order to set the appropriate bottom line for the items being auctioned. I ask that anyone bringing a basket have those items at the gymnasium no later than 12:00 on Saturday.

Thank you,

Coach Heppner

Lift-A-Thon Weigh-In and Pledge Reminder

Attenion Players,

The weigh-in for the Lift-A-Thon will be after school on Friday, May 29th at 2:45 in the weight room. It is very important that all players participating in the event be in in the weight room for the weigh-in. We will be setting up our spreadsheets by putting the proper people in the appropriate weight class, along with a proper bench press technique explination and demonstration.

Also, with only four days until the event it is important that you turn all pledges in to me ASAP. I need to have the majority of the money programed into the spreadsheet not only for record purposes, but to also award the appropriate winner in each class for the most-money-raised. If you already have pledges waiting to be turned in, you can give those to me anytime during this week. Although some sponsors may be waiting to turn in their pledge on Saturday, I would like to have all pledges turned in prior to the event.

Thanks,

Coach Heppner

Lift-A-Thon Promotions

Attention Players and Parents,

With the Lift-A-Thon arriving in four days, I highly suggest that we put in a reminder to all the people we sent out pledges to, that they come and enjoy the festivities and cheer you on during the event. We want as many people at the event that we can possibly have. This will not only create a sense of excitement during the event, but it will also allow the members of the Athens Football Community to witness first hand the hard work and dedication we've put in this off-season.

The Lift-A-Thon will start at 1:00 pm in the Athens gymnasium. There will be a silent auction for multiple gift baskets, and Series 1, game seven, autographed Redwings hockey sticks. Jason Kurtis, Owner of the Buffalo Wild Wings on John R. and Big Beaver, will be providing wings, along with two gift baskets to be auctioned for as well.

Thanks,

Coach Heppner

Player Pack Pick-Up and Final Order

Attention players and parents,

Player Packs have arrived! If you have not done so already, you must pick up your order from Mrs. Weslosky immediately. The over-packed Weslosky living room thanks you in advance. Please have these items collected by Friday, May 29th. It is highly recommended that all players participating in the Lift-A-Thon wear their 2009 shorts and t-shirt for the event.

If you have not ordered your Player Packs for the 2009 season, then you must turn in your order to Sarah Weslosky by Saturday, May 30th. Mrs. Weslosky will be at the Lift-A-Thon to collect all of the second wave order forms. This will be the last order that goes out for the 2009 garments.

Thanks,

Coach Heppner
